When I was a little kid I wanted to be a teacher, when I was a teenager I wanted to be a psychologist (we seem very similar in this regard!). However, I went to university for a completely unrelated degree (Human Rights and Equity Studies) and before that got a diploma in Social Service Work.
I now work at a cancer-related nonprofit organization. It’s not what my younger self would have chosen for a career but I enjoy my job and am happy to be making a positive difference, however small that may be.
